32 hours per week – 18 week term
Brokenhead Ojibway Nation EAST Resource Center in partnership with Jordan’s Principle and Momenta are seeking 2 individuals to fill 2 positions of Trail Keepers for an 18 week term. Responsibilities will include, trail maintenance, mapping and assessment of current trails, review current and historical maps, administering a survey on current trail use, interviewing Community Members to gain knowledge of points of interest and trail route recommendations, scavenger hunt creation, creating a Facebook page to share trail information with Community Members, participating in weekly walking meetings with Momenta. Successful candidates must be willing to obtain, Sirius MedX Wilderness First Aid and CPR, Chainsaw and machinery safety Course, Mapping and technical tool training, Trail maintenance training. All required training will be provided.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all seasons
- Be able to complete tasks independently
- Have strong communication skills and the willingness to connect with all Community Members
- Have basis computer skills
- Complete training courses
- Must be willing to submit to random drug testing
