COVID-19 Financial Support for all BON Members

Chief & Council would like to announce that all BON members living on and off reserve will be eligible for a one-time payment of $100.  In this unprecedented time, our hope is that this can help in some small way alleviate the financial stress of this ongoing pandemic.

Distribution will take place at:

Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall (across from South Beach Casino)
Friday, February 12 –         10:00 AM – 12:00 NOON  (open to Elders 55+ only)
12:00 NOON – 5:00 PM – All others

12:00 NOON – 5:00 PM – All others

This event will be following all health and social distancing protocols that are in place at the time of distribution.

Applications must be completed and brought with you along with your treaty card.  Applications will be sent in the mail to all on reserve members.  Off reserve members can print one off on the BON website. You can also obtain one by calling the membership clerk at 204-766-2494 or toll free at 1-888-295-3884.

Any member who cannot attend in person can complete an application and send to Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, Attention:  Covid-19 Financial Support, PO Box 180, Scanterbury, Manitoba R0E 1W0; Fax (204) 766-2021 or email to estraight-bear@brokenheadojibwaynation.com.  Cheques will be mailed out after the distribution date.

Deadline to apply is March 31, 2021.

NOTE:  As BON begins the process of going paperless…..

Brokenhead Ojibway Nation’s Financial department is in the process of becoming more electronic friendly.  We are trying set up all BON members with the ability to accept Electronic Funds Transfer.  If you would like to participate please send in a copy of a voided cheque or a direct deposit form from your bank.   Our hope is that in the near future we can be in a position to send all future payments electronically.

Brokenhead Ojibway Nation (BON) Members Covid-19 Financial Support – 2021 Terms & Conditions 

Purpose:  Chief & Council have made a decision to distribute to All BON members a one-time payment of $100.  This allocation is intended to assist the BON membership during the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Deadline to apply is March 31, 2021.

Distribution to 18+ Members:  Once an application has been completed distribution will be made to the BON members 18+ who have a treaty card number and are registered.

Children 17 & Under:  Parents can collect the distribution for children under the age of 18 but must provide their medical & Treaty card.  Parents with joint custody;  the parent with primary care and control of the children will receive the distribution however, must provide documentation of this.

Children in Care (CIC):  BON will make a distribution to a trust fund for CIC who are under 12 year of age.  Children 12 years and older will be able to collect this distribution however must provide identification such as a treaty card, birth certificate or social insurance card.

Incarcerated Members:  Any member that is held in a provincial or federal penitentiary must provide a copy of their treaty card front and back along with a completed application mailed to Brokenhead Ojibway Nation.  No family members will be permitted to collect for incarcerated members.

ALL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 31, 2021:
